MARINE DEBRIS MONITORING ACTIVITIES IN BALI PROVINCE, AUGUST 2021  

Since 2017, the PPKPL Directorate has carried out monitoring of marine debris in several locations in Indonesia. Until 2020, as many as 26 regencies/cities in 22 provinces throughout Indonesia have carried out monitoring of marine debris, one of which is Kab. Badung in the Province of Bali. To obtain the plurality and accuracy of the data as well as the development of Indonesia's marine conditions, marine debris monitoring activities need to be carried out again in 2021.


Methods of implementing marine debris monitoring in Kab. Badung is carried out in type 2 self-management with third parties. The sampling method is in accordance with the Circular Letter of the Minister of Environment and Forestry Number SE.9/MENLHK/SETJEN/KUM.1/10/2020 concerning Guidelines for Monitoring Marine Debris.


The activity was carried out at Batu Belig Beach (Coordinates: 08 0 40' 17.9” South Latitude 115 0 8' 37.6” East Longitude) and Batu Bolong Beach (Coordinates: 08 0 39' 26.1” South Latitude 115 0 7' 38, 6” East Longitude), Badung Regency, Bali Province. The implementation of activities must pay attention to the National and Regional COVID-19 pandemic health protocols.
